Strange love…
Oh my love for the first time in my life
My eyes are wide open
Oh my love for the first time in my life
My eyes can see
–John Lennon “Oh My Love”
Despite my devotion to Depeche Mode, I try to broaden my musical views by listening to other band’s music. Peer pressure also plays an important part, incidentally.
I tried the Stone Roses, Suede, New Order, Placebo, etc. Yesterday I even watched the movie “Trainspotting” with my peers.
The songs made by British bands are mostly exciting and fascinating. The mystery they express draws me into a world full of wonders.
Still, I miss my Modemen terribly. Now that I’m bored in the Student Lodging Department, I logged online and read some DM lyrics, without even listening to the songs.
Ah, Martin is the most excellent wordsmith in the music scene. I wonder how he is able to depict life so vividly, accurately, painfully. The combination of the words blinking on the screen have such inexplicable beauty that I rarely see in other bands.
DM’s music is multi-layed, refreshing. Mart, Dave, and Al grant me feelings of fullness, joy of living out of my meaningless exsitence. I see sublime; I feel loved.

It’s impossible for me to love other bands as much as Depeche Mode. It’s a pity that few around me understands.
